What’s New at the Orange City Tulip Festival?

Here’s what you need to know for the 2022 Tulip Festival!

New! Tulip Talk in Windmill Park

Come to the Tulip Festival and learn more about tulips from local flower experts! Enjoy hearing about the history of the tulip and why this flower is so important to the world—and Orange City. The Tulip Talk is located in Windmill Park in the white tent. Daily 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Dutch Dozen Refresh

A crowd-pleasing favorite each year, you won’t want to miss the updates to the Dutch Dozen! A group of 12 young ladies and 12 young men, all in high school, provide a colorful, light-hearted, and melodious journey through Old Holland. The Dutch Dozen will be wearing new, authentic Dutch costumes and their show will feature new props and backdrops this year! Daily at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Annex to open at Dutch-American Heritage Museum

The Annex went through a complete remodel and will house all-new military exhibits. Opening for the first time at Tulip Festival, it will be a must-see! Located at the Dutch-American Heritage Museum. Open daily 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Enjoy a new route during the Road Race

With a new route for the Road Race, you’ll be sure to finish strong down Central Ave with beautiful tulips guiding your way! 5K, 10K, and one-mile walk take place Saturday, May 21 at 7:50 a.m. Register to run online.

Join the Second Tour de Tulips Bicycle Ride

Join this 21-mile (round-trip) ride to the Sioux County Regional Airport for the Fly-in Breakfast. An optional longer 35-mile (round-trip) route to Ireton is also an option this year! Register here for this ride. Takes place Saturday, May 21 at 8:30 a.m.

Straatmarkt Additions

Be sure to check out all the vendors – including a few new food options – in the Straatmarkt this year. They’ll be treats and souvenirs for all to enjoy.

Night Show at Town Hall

Enjoy the sights and sounds of MAMMA MIA! just steps away from all the action in downtown Orange City! Tickets are selling fast – get them now!

Town Hall Information Booth – now selling tickets!

We are finding new ways to help our guests at the festival! In addition to buying tickets at the Windmill Information Booth, the Town Hall Information Booth will also sell tickets this year.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Volksparade

Our twice-daily Volksparade will feature many updated floats, and we are excited to feature a new float from Sekisui Aerospace. Pella Corporation will also have their float in the parades this year. And if you missed seeing the beautiful First Kiss float last year, now is your chance!

Poffertjes are back in the Little White Store! Enjoy your favorite treat from the Dutch Heritage Boosters!

The Antique Model Tractor Display is back this year!

See Jim Deboer’s amazing display of 40+ wood model farm implement pieces. Jim is a retired farmer that has been hand-making farm models for many years. Daily 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at First CRC Church by the Antique Tractor Show.

And of course, we have the same crowd-favorite events including street scrubbing, horse-drawn trolley tours, Vogel Old Mill tours, ArtBurst, wooden shoe carving demonstrations, and more!
