Orange City Tulip Festival Announces 2010 Dates

Orange City, IA – Orange City will come alive with color again on May 13, 14 and 15, 2010 for the 70^th Annual Tulip Festival. This free cultural celebration will feature thousands of tulip varieties in a kaleidoscope of colors. The floral show and authentic Dutch festival will be complemented for by unique and entertaining events you don’t want to miss!

The 2009 Tulip Festival was a big success, debuting new events and entertainers such as New York Times Best Seller Vicky Myron, who appeared in the first-ever Author’s Corner, nationally recognized band Remedy Drive, and brand new parade floats! The beautiful weather on Saturday brought out a record number of visitors.

Join us next year for three days of family-friendly fun. The Tulip Festival offers fans of the flower a chance to see the latest varieties up close. Enjoy the two daily parades, carnival rides, and a tour of the town in a beautiful hand-painted, horse-drawn trolley. The StraatMarkt boasts delicious ethnic foods from spicy local brats to delicious desserts. Poffertjes, tiny pancakes in rum butter, are a local favorite available at the Little White Store on Central Avenue while “Dutch Puppies” are a popular treat – a waffle on a stick covered in chocolate and whipped cream. At the end of the day, let yourself be entertained at the nightly Broadway musical show. The Orange City Tulip Festival has something for everyone!
